While it’s clear a strategy is important, marketers are not taking the steps to develop a strong foundation for their content. So, what makes up a smart content strategy?
There are three key elements that make up a content strategy:
1. Ensure it is visible to everyone on the marketing team
2. Include key performance indicators (KPIs) and other measurable goals to track against
3. Outline a content marketing mission statement and defined audiences
Marketers who have a documented strategies tend to have more sophisticated content marketing programs. Why? Their content marketing campaigns are actionable. They have metrics. And, most importantly, they have a vision that is written down, documented, and on paper so others can read it.
