To stay on top of the latest digital marketing trends in the business to business (B2B) or business to consumer (B2C) worlds, it is critical attend live marketing conferences throughout the yea to keep your skills up-to-date, network, and learn about trends in the marketing world.
However, not all conferences are the same and provide you with a great networking experience or give you actionable takeaways that you can implement when you get back to the office, or ensure you got a lot of value for the price you paid to attend the event.
I compiled a list of the top 20 of 2020 live marketing events you should consider adding to your calendar (the order of this list is based on the date of the conference):

For all those people that live in cold climates, it helps that this conference in is in lovely San Diego in early March.
March 11-13, 2020 | Orlando, FL
Why you should attend: This event, organized by Ragan Communications, brings together more than 300 public relations and communications professionals to provide tips, takeaways, and secrets to better connecting with audiences on social media platforms. The event is held at Disney World so it is a great event to learn about social media and visit Disney. Learn how to adapt social media strategies and tailor content to different audiences and changing algorithms.
March 29–April 2, 2020 | Las Vegas, NV
Why you should attend: The Adobe Summit has joined forces with Marketo’s Marketing Nation Summit to focus on the “digital experience” of marketing automation, advertising, design-led customer experience, personalization, and omnichannel marketing. Join the leaders who work in marketing automation, analytics, advertising, and eCommerce. April 20-22, 2020 | Chicago, Ill

May 3-6, 2020 | Austin, TX
Why you should attend: SiriusDecisions (now part of Forrester), will hold their annual event with more than 4,000 marketers for three and half days of information for B2B marketing and sales professionals. You’ll gain access to data-driven best practices research, networking with an elite community of sales, marketing and product leaders, and get more from your SiriusDecisions investment.
May 11-12, 2020 | San Francisco, CA
Why you should attend: One of the world’s largest conference focused on programmatic media and marketing, this conference is twice a year. The first one is on the west coast in May in San Francisco at the Programmatic I/O San Francisco event. If you can’t make it to the San Francisco one, you can attend the east coast one with Programmatic I/O 2020 in New York from September 29-30, 2020. According to the event organizers, these events will help you get “educated on the future of digital marketing” with more than 1,200 attendees. The two-day event has more than 50 sessions, networking, and more than 65 speakers.
May 17-20, 2020 | Minneapolis, MN
Why you should attend: Billed as the “content strategy conference,” this event is organized by Brain Traffic so it has a strong emphasis on how to help you develop your content strategy. June 1-3, 2020 | San Diego, CA
Why you should attend: As the title suggests, this conference is organized by Gartner, one of the world’s leading research and advisory companies. The event is billed as the “the world’s most important gathering of CMOs and marketing executives.” More than 1,600 marketing leaders join the conference that will cover the topics ranging from customer experience to market insights and the marketing technologies that fuel your marketing strategy. The event has promised to help you “hone your leadership skills, refine your marketing strategies and find innovative solutions to help power your marketing team.”
July 6-8, 2020 | Seattle, WA
Why you should attend: MozCon, organized by Moz, is billed as “not your typical marketing conference.” This three-day, one-track event focuses on search engine optimization (SEO), mobile, conversion optimization, and local search. The event will bring together “marketers of all stripes” including content marketers, SEO experts, and marketing executives. August 18-21, 2020 | Boston, MA
Why you should attend: This four-day event will help you “take your job by storm” where it brings together more than 24,000 people to listen to more than 250 speakers, attend nightly parties, and participate in a lot of interactive sessions. Organized by HubSpot, Inbound helps you come back with great ideas, good memories and takeaways from tracks ranging from analytics to artificial intelligence to branding to email marketing.
September 15 – 16, 2020 | Las Vegas, NV
Why you should attend: Hosted by ManageCamp, Inc., this two-day event help you learn the tools, gain insights and inspiration to help take your brand to the next level.
